    Dear Parents,

What a fabulous time we had on our Field Trip to Connors’ Farm. We rode on our first school bus, played with our friends on some cool rides, enjoyed cider and donuts, rode on a hayride through a corn maze and took a pumpkin home! It was a perfect fall day! It so good to see the students having fun! Thank you chaperones!

Please keep checking the website. If a funny story, picture or a quick note I want to get to you, I post it on the website…I’m a lot like Santa….I know if you have been visiting the site.  The more you view, the funnier I become!

The children have learned so much about leaves and pumpkin in the past few weeks. We did a lot of pumpkin activities last week.  Today, the children sewed pumpkins together and was able to retell the life cycle of a pumpkin! I think they are pumpkin’d out!

This week will be spooktacular! We will start our Halloween activities. Thank you for the toilet/paper towel rolls! We made them into binoculars and have gone on a science walk .We will gather leaves to stuff a scarecrow!

In Reading, we have just finished our first unit!  Unit 2 (six stories) will focus on animal homes. This week’s story is about life in the Ocean. We will learn about comparing and contrasting. I have introduced nouns. We have two new ❤ words; have, is. I am sending home the 2 new heart words in a baggy, please add them to the word ring. The next few weeks we will be focusing on the short vowel /a/.  We will start making words ending in; -an, -am, and -at.

In Math, we are learning about the numbers 6-10. The children also are learning about a 10 frame. They are having fun using manipulatives to help them count.  We have been in school for over 30 days that meant that Zero the Hero came by for a visit last week! The children have learned so much already!
