    Let's start with Calendar! Sing Days of the Week, Months of the Year. Today is Monday, March 16th, 2020.

    Yesterday was...., Today is...... Tomorrow will be.....

    The Season is...

    Have your child be the Meteorologist.

    Now comes the fun part. Go to youtube. Look Up Jack Hartmann. Watch the videos for counting by 2's, 5's and 10's. Tell time to the o'clock. Have them tell time by analog and digital. Today, let's do 11:00.

     

    This week's story: Goldilocks and the Three Bears by Valeri Gorbachev. Again, you can go to youtube to watch the exact story being read.

    The phonics sound this week is /g/.

     

    Let's look at Family times: Color the pictures that begin with /g/. Flip over...Do Day one activity...Have your child retell a story. First, next then last.

     

    Have your child do the Gg paper. The one the has the upper case color in red lower case in black.

    WHen making Upper Case G's, it is just like making a letter C but add a "straight mouth".

    Lower case g..It is exactly like making the lower case a, but you go below the solid line to add a smile.

    Remember.."Where it you start your letters...at the top, at the top!

    Your next paper is to color the paper "one". color the word, one, orange..the backround will be all diffeent colors.

    Go to the practice pages, #277. Write 5 upper case G"S on the first line..make sure they start at the top and have a space between each letter.

    second line, 5 lower case g's.  Write Gil, got.

     

    Next page 278. Have your child write the first sound of the picture. All the letters should be lower case, have them challenge themselves for the other pictures that don't start with g.

    The answers:

    g(gate)

    k(kite)

    g(gorilla)

    l(lamp)

    g(garden).

     

    Review Heart words:

    On the left hand side of this website is Scott Forseman.  Please go to Unit 4, story 4. There are so many activities for this story.

     

    Math: Topic 6, lesson 4

    Start with the colored paper. On each line, have your child draw 10 circles..with a crayon color of their choosing.

    Then count by 10.Turn the paper over.

    #1. Count by ten up to 100. Have them count all the pears.

    #2. Again count by 10.

    Now go to WHite paper Practice 6.4

    #'s 1-3 count by 10's.

    Flip Enrichment;

    Count the dominos by 10 answer the questions for #'s 1-3.

    Four #4. fill in the bottom dominos..five on top, five on the bottom. How many in all?

     

    This is the end of Day one. Please email me if this was helpful. Also, do not go ahead on the papers. Let's really try and give the children routine. They know what we do each day.
