School Team Masses Started in September

As part of our Faith Formation curriculum at Saint Joseph School, we have assembled teams of all students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 to serve in various ministry positions during selected Masses this school year.

Team members will be giving the First and Second Readings and the Prayers of the Faithful as well as acting as Greeters, Gift Bearers and Ushers.

Our first School Team Mass yook place on Sunday, September 29 at the 9:00 a.m. Mass at Saint Joseph Parish.

Please click here to view the schedule for the 2019-20 school year, which will indicate the Team that your child or children are on, the date(s) that they are serving, and what their assignment(s) will be.

Teams will ALWAYS serve at the 9:00 a.m. Mass at Saint Joseph Parish, except that there may be Masses served at other local parishes at a date to be determined.  We will contact Teams who are asked to serve at other parishes well in advance of their Mass.

If your child cannot make their scheduled Mass, it is the responsibility of the parent/child to switch with another child for another date.

Prior to your child giving a First or Second Reading or a Prayer of the Faithful, the Ryder or Guerriero family will send home a copy of what they will be reading through the child's backpack.  Each Team member should report by 8:30 a.m. to Kim or Kevin Ryder or Cenzina Guerriero in Father Gillis Hall to practice their assignment.

EVERY child MUST wear their CLASS A UNIFORM for the Masses.  All girls in 6th, 7th, and 8th Grades MUST wear their maroon sweater as part of their Class A  Uniform.  All boys in 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th must wear their white button down shirt with their school tie as part of their Class A Uniform.

Thank you for participating in this important component of our Faith Formation program!  Please contact Kim RyderKevin Ryder or Cenzina Guerriero with any questions.
