The Christian Service Program at Saint Joseph School is a vital component to our school’s success and is a cornerstone of family involvement in the education of our children. Commitment to and involvement in our Christian Service Program is crucial for the continued growth and development of our school and its students. Participating in the Christian Service Program brings us together with other school families, and creates a greater sense of community, by enabling each of us to share our special skills and talents to make our school a better place. The program also serves as a tool to keep tuition costs down.
It is still not yet entirely clear how the pandemic will impact this upcoming school year. As a result, we have made significant adjustments to the Christian Service positions for the 2020/21 school year.
- Many of our beloved in-school positions have been eliminated or reduced significantly. Although it saddens us that our families cannot contribute in these ways, the health and well-being of our students and staff remains our highest priority.
- We also ask all parents who are assigned to fundraising positions to please be flexible as it is possible that these events may need some adjustments this year as compared to prior years. For example, there may be a need to shift to a fully or partially virtual mode for some of these events. We will closely coordinate with event chairs to ensure that all events are conducted safely, and we greatly appreciate your openness to corresponding adjustments in your role.
- Another significant change is that we are realigning the PTO for the 2020/21 school year. Roles have been restructured to focus more on school-related events and activities. In lieu of PTO meetings, and given the success of our virtual Principal Coffee Hours at the end of last year, communication between parents and the school administration will continue throughout the upcoming year with both virtual and in-person meetings.
