A very special SJS tradition was kept alive during Holy Week this year!
The eighth graders made Resurrection Eggs for the kindergarteners. Each egg was filled with a symbol of the Easter story. Then, since the eighth graders could not visit kindergarten in person due to safety protocols, they made a video to walk the kindergarteners through the story.
(The first graders also received their special eggs, assembled by the seventh graders, this year as well, because the virus had prevented them from receiving their eggs last year. Mrs. Melino played the Grade 8 video for them as well.)
Mrs. Coppinger, a former SJS teacher and current substitute teacher, began this tradition. She even made a "guest appearance" to teach her special lesson to the seventh and eighth grade students!
We are so happy that this meaningful experience was delivered in a creative way!
