Steve Seracuse and Keith McInnis read to the 4th grade and Dan Hubbard read to the 3rd grade the book Twenty-One Steps, a fabulous book celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington, D.C. They read during Veterans Day week to help our students celebrate our Veterans.
The students asked very thoughtful and insightful questions and the veterans responded with equally thoughtful answers. The students learned a lot about being in the military and what it is like to serve while being deployed to another country during a war and what it is like to serve here in the United States. When they were finished the students all asked when they could come back again.
We are so grateful for our current military reader, Mr. Hubbard, and our veteran readers, Mr. McInnis and Mr. Seracuse, for volunteering their time to help our students understand the importance of Veterans Day.
