On October 4, the 4th and 5th Grades travelled to Plum Island to collect and examine sea life along the shore. We learned about the ingredients needed for a healthy habitat, and how to handle the shellfish without damaging them. We learned that many types of crabs are invasive to this country, having arrived here on the hulls of ships from Europe and China.
This Spring, as part of the new Christian Living class, students have been learning about Eucharistic miracles. As a resource, they have been using a website created by Carlo Acutis, a young Catholic amateur computer programmer suffering from leukemia. He became known for documenting Eucharistic miracles around the world & cataloging them onto a website which he created before his death. Please click to read more & see a photo slide show.
Eighth graders have been researching a company of their choice over the past 3 months. Students created a brochure for their company highlighting its history and contributions to our society. Then they followed the company's stock prices for about 3 months, used the data to create a line graph and identified a trend line for their company. Finally they have predicted what the stock price for their company would be in the near future using their trend line. Here are the posters that students created displaying their analysis of the Stock Market.
SJS DRAMA CLUB
PETER PAN 2022
We are so proud of every student, teacher and parent who was involved in last year's SJS Drama Club production of Peter Pan!
Everyone worked so hard to prepare and really put their whole heart into their terrific performances!
We are so blessed by the many, many people who invested so much time in this production, especially Mrs. Chiodini, Mrs. Melino and Ethan Hildonen!
