Christian Giving

  • Students at Saint Joseph reach beyond the boundaries of our school. From 4th grade through 8th grade, our students regularly volunteer at area nursing homes and senior centers as groups and individuals throughout the year, evangelizing by their example. Our students raise funds for the needy, coats for the homeless, food and supplies for the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry and The Mission of Deeds, and books for children in need.  Each student from Grades 4 through 8 is required to perform 40 hours of community service annually. One Friday a month, all students have a no uniform day where, by donating $1 to a charity, they can wear casual clothes with the colors representing the charity.

As a school, we participate in town events such as the Holiday Stroll, the Italian festival and other town events. Our extracurricular activities teach and exhibit Catholic values such as teamwork and thoughtfulness through our competitive participation in basketball, robotics, cross-country and similar teams in public and private leagues and tournaments.

Our public examples of Christian values attract parents and children to our school and our parish.
