    Dear Grade 3 Parents,

Please download and read my Academic Word Document which is attached to this email and goes into detail about what I will be teaching this week in religion, reading, spelling, grammar, phonics, and math.

You will receive an Academic Word Document from me almost every week this year in addition to the "At A Glance" weekly quick calendar so that you will always know exactly what we are doing in grade 3. Children at the third grade age level live in a world of the "present", so often when asked what they did in school after school is finished for the day, the response becomes, "Nothing!"πŸ˜‚ because their minds are already focused on what is coming next.πŸ˜€

If possible, please check your child's backpack to make sure that they have everything they need for the day such as water, a healthy snack, lunch if they are not buying it, their important take-home folder, and any books or workbooks that are necessary for the day in school.  A bottle or thermos of water is allowed to be kept at their desk all day.

Also, please let me know if your child will be going home with someone different that afternoon. Sometimes, children who are feeling more independent at this age, make play dates with each other that the parents may not even be aware of in their transitional steps of growing up! Also, if it is necessary for your child to have a cell phone with him or her in order to contact you before or after school, the cell phone must be kept in a zipped compartment of the backpack. The administration of St. Joseph school does not allow cell phones to be used in class or in the recess yard. Thank you for your understanding.

A BIG Thank You πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ to Mrs. Kourtney Casoli for being our Grade 3 Room Mother this year. She will also be our third grade representative for the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), which is a new committee formed by Father Ron Barker and Dr. Joseph Sullivan to assist in helping St. Joseph School become the best it can be. The Parent Advisory Committee increases the involvement of school parents in the ministry of the school and is an opportunity to work with the administration to improve the experience of all parents and students in unique ways.

Happy Birthday to John Casoli who turns 9 years old on Sunday, September 15, 2019.πŸ˜€πŸŽΆπŸŽ‚πŸ°πŸ§πŸ¬πŸπŸŽˆπŸŽ‰πŸŽ John will be our first "teacher for the day" this Tuesday 9/17/19! He will reap all the benefits that I told you about on the birthday notice which was in your parent folder. I am sure that John will do a super job!!❀

Happy birthday to Mia Garcia who will turn 9 years old this Friday, September 20, 2019. Mia will be our "teacher for the day"on Friday. Of course, she will also reap all of the benefits that go along with our grade 3 teacher birthday celebration.πŸ˜€πŸŽΆπŸŽ‚πŸ°πŸ§πŸ¬πŸπŸŽˆπŸŽ‰πŸŽ I know that Mia will also be an excellent teacher on Friday!❀
