    Dear Grade 3 Parents,

Please read this week's attached academic word document which will give you details about what the children will be learning this week in Religion, Reading comprehension, Spelling, Grammar, Phonics, and Math.📚📄📓

We will be extremely busy this week making sure that we complete everything necessary to be able to have our reading and spelling tests on Thursday since there will be no school for the children on Friday, October 11,2019, or on Monday, October 14, 2019.

Thank you very much for your attention to checking their take-home folders each day to look over their daily work and discuss with them any area that it seems they may be having some difficulty.

Please help me to remind each of them that there are no prizes for finishing first in our classroom tests, and that almost every test I give has a very generous amount of time to complete, allowing for children who  finish earlier time to read quietly at their desk. We have discussed the importance of checking test papers to make sure that each question has an answer, and that no test should be passed in with problems that have been skipped.I have allowed children to complete questions that have been skipped before I have graded them, but at some point in the near future they will have to have some points taken off for skipped problems as they do in the standardized tests.

The children took home their "At A Glance" calendar for this week on Friday afternoon.

We also had our picture and article about the class dictionaries in this week's church bulletin, along with an announcement about our St. Francis pet food 😺🐶collection. I will try to get a few extra bulletins for families who do not live in St. Joseph Parish.

Have a happy, healthy week and enjoy your 4 day weekend beginning next Thursday afternoon!😀

    Blessings🙏,

    Mrs. Jane Ellis
