We had a great Catholic Schools Week! The students enjoyed playing board games with their buddies. We also made Valentine cards for the residents of Brightview and Bear Hill Nursing Home. I hope you were impressed with your children when you came to visit on Thursday. They are an amazing bunch of scholars! Thank you, all, for your very generous contributions to the Battle of the Bills with all proceeds going to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. We’ll see if our strategy worked!
We completed the 3rd story in our reading series and the students had their assessments on Thursday.
In math, we continued to compare 2 digit numbers and used the terms less than, greater than, and equal to when comparing them. Please keep practicing math facts with your children, both addition and subtraction. I still see fingers and number lines being used.
This week’s superstar student was Maeve. She loved showing off her many interesting treasures. We were really impressed with her picture of her visit to Story Land with Cinderella. She would like to make sure all the oceans are kept clean so all sea life may be protected. Next week, Nadia will be our superstar student.
Thank you, Mrs. Licata and Mrs Cefalo, for surprising us as our Mystery Readers this week!
We will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Friday, Feb. 14th. I will send home our class list next week.
The second term ended today. Report cards will be distributed next Friday. Please sign and return them by the following Monday. If you feel the need for a conference, please let me know and we’ll arrange a time to meet.
Have a great weekend!
